What Is Sclerotherapy?
Sclerotherapy is a medical and cosmetic procedure that is used to treat varicose veins and spider veins in the legs. It involves injecting a solution into the vein that causes it to close off. This blocks the flow of blood through the vein and causes it to eventually disappear. This treatment is designed to reduce, correct and eliminate the appearance of blue, green and purple veins that are visible to the naked eye.
Varicose veins aren’t just a cosmetic problem. Varicose veins are associated with discomfort and limb pain for some patients. Some patients with varicose veins can experience extreme discomfort, especially in areas such as the feet.

Benefits of Sclerotherapy
Sclerotherapy is a safe and effective treatment for varicose veins and spider veins. You no longer need to feel conscious about the appearance of unwanted veins! It is a minimally invasive procedure that does not require surgery or anesthetics. The results are permanent.
Although Sclerotherapy was designed to be a cosmetic procedure, it is highly beneficial for patients who suffer from Varicose vein discomfort and pain. The most significant benefit of this treatment is the restoration of confidence. With the veins disappearing, many patients feel more body positive and less conscious about showing their legs.

The Treatment Process
The procedure typically lasts between 15 and 30 minutes, and no anesthesia is required. However, we can provide a topical numbing cream for added comfort during treatment.
Our highly trained medical injector will clean the area of treatment first. They will then inject the solution into the vein using a tiny needle. The solution will cause the vein to close off and disappear over time.
After the procedure, you will need to wear compression stockings for a few days. These stockings help to keep the treated area compressed and promote healing. You may also experience some bruising and swelling after treatment, this is very common and will disappear in a few days.
