What is Platelet Rich Plasma?
A PRP vampire facial uses platelet-rich plasma (PRP) to improve the appearance of the skin.
Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) is a concentrated mixture of platelets and other proteins that are naturally present in blood. These cells help repair and regenerate tissue. When administered to the skin, PRP can help improve collagen production, reduce inflammation, and promote healing.
A vampire facial is excellent to help improve the appearance of wrinkles, scars, and other blemishes.
There are 2 methods of doing PRP. Either we manually inject directly with a syringe or we can combine PRP with microneedling treatment.

Benefits of A Vampire Facial
The benefits of platelet-rich plasma (PRP) for the skin are significant. PRP is a natural treatment that uses the patient’s own blood to improve the appearance of the skin. When PRP is reintroduced to the skin, it stimulates cell turnover which in turn promotes collagen and elastin production. This leads to tighter, plumper, and smoother skin.
The results of treatment include reduced wrinkles, improved skin texture and tone, a brighter complexion, and faded or diminished scars. You can enjoy rejuvenated and refreshed skin right after your first appointment!

The Treatment Process
Our highly trained cosmetic nurse will prep you for your appointment by thoroughly cleansing your skin, removing makeup and then applying a numbing agent for added comfort during your treatment. The numbing agent will be left to absorb into the skin for at least 10-15 minutes.
Next, we will prep for the blood extraction. A quick and simple blood draw from your arm. The next step is to centrifuge it, this process separates the platelet-rich plasma (the main component of this treatment) from the red and white blood cells. Once the blood is ready, it will be transferred into injection needles.
Although the injection process might sound daunting, trust us you’re in good hands! The punctures are superficial and only penetrate the top layer of your skin and the numbing cream keeps the level of discomfort at a minimum. You may feel a slight tingling sensation. This process is then repeated over the entire face. The controlled penetration allows the plasma to be absorbed more deeply.
The treatment is completed with the application of a vitamin-enriched Hyaluronic Acid serum which will further increase cell turnover. We may also use a soothing mask post treatment as this will help soothe and provide hydration to the post procedure skin.
It is recommended to use a sunscreen with SPF 40 or higher after treatment.

Yes, PRP is a safe and effective treatment approved by Health Canada. It is derived from the patient’s own blood, so there is no risk of adverse reactions.
The vampire facial is considered a non-invasive procedure. However, some people may experience slight discomfort depending on their sensitivity. We will apply a numbing agent to your skin for added comfort.
After your vampire facial, you will need to take some precautions to ensure optimal results. Here are a few things to keep in mind:
-Avoid direct sunlight. The vampire facial procedure uses blood products that can make your skin more sensitive to the sun’s rays.
-Stay hydrated. Drink plenty of fluids in the days following your treatment.
-Avoid strenuous activity. You’ll want to take it easy for a few days after your vampire facial to allow your skin to heal properly.
-Use sunscreen rated SPF 30 or higher. Sun exposure can further damage your skin, so it’s important to protect yourself with a good sunscreen.
If you have premature wrinkles, high levels of sun damage, or desire a fresher, more even-toned complexion, you are an ideal candidate for the vampire facial. However, if you have a history of blood diseases, including clotting or bleeding disorders please inform us. Please feel free to book a consultation in case you’re unsure and we would love to answer any questions you may have.
