The Treatment Process
To prepare for your treatment, our medical aesthetician will prep your chin area by cleaning it thoroughly and then for added comfort will apply a topical anesthetic agent.
Each BELKYRA™ appointment will consist of 10-30 small injections targeting various areas of the chin. Although the fat is dissolved within 10-15 minutes after administering the injectable, the inflammatory response of getting injected multiple times causes swelling. This is nothing to worry about and will subsidize within a couple of weeks and you will see the actual results of your procedure.
If you experience any soreness, you may take Ibuprofen or Acetaminophen for pain relief.

Yes, BELKYRA™ is safe. It is made of a naturally occurring molecule in the body that helps break down dietary fat. There are no major side effects associated with the treatment. However, some people may experience minor side effects such as swelling, bruising, or numbness in the treated area. These side effects typically go away within a few days.
Most people require two to three treatments to achieve optimal results. We recommend setting up a consultation to discuss how many treatments would be optimal for you.
Good candidates for BELKYRA™ are patients who have moderate to severe double chin and are not significantly overweight.
It is important to note that BELKYRA™ is not a weight-loss treatment and will not help you lose weight.
